Following recent major wins within Local Government and a decision to focus on securing additional new business, two new positions were created for a Local Government Account Director, and a Central/Local Government Business Development Manager. Having exhausted the active candidate market databases offered through their generic recruitment providers, the client's Vice President of Government Services contacted Breakthrough Search.
Our first priority was to work with the Vice President and HR Manager to gain a full understanding of their business and appreciation for their culture. This formed a key part of our solution as it enabled Breakthrough Search to effectively sell the benefits of working for the client and ensure that any selected candidates would fit well with their existing teams and senior management. We then set out a solution that would utilise our existing relationships with senior sales candidates operating in Government markets combined with a search campaign to identify additional highly relevant passive candidates through our knowledge of the organisations competitors.
Breakthrough Search quickly identified a strong shortlist of three candidates for each position, all that were overachieving in their current positions selling related solutions in to Government markets. Following a series of interviews carried out by Breakthrough Search and the client we were able to successfully negotiate offers with two outstanding candidates. Within 6 months of this successful recruitment campaign the Business Development Manager was promoted to Director of Central Government Sales.

The Client was at a critical point in their expansion and had created a new position for a Vice President of Marketing to work closely with the board to introduce products to market, develop long term product strategies and build a marketing team. The client had worked with another executive search & selection firm for several months which had produced unsatisfactory results and no relevant candidates. The client was an ambitious high growth technology organisation with a compelling and innovative solution. Backed by early stage investors with aggressive growth plans, the business was looking to recruit top sales talent from the storage solution and enterprise software space.
